Welcome to NGI Gulet Cruises
At NGI Travel, we know a thing or two about holidaying in Turkey, and we know that most of our guests leave us wishing they’d seen a little more of this arrestingly beautiful corner of the Mediterranean. Well, we think we’ve discovered the perfect way to blend a relaxing holiday with a tranquil tour around the remarkable coastal topology of the region: the NGI Gulet Cruise.
Our superbly-crafted traditional Turkish Gulet can be your floating home-from home for an amazing 3, 4, or 7-day adventure that’s sure to be the highlight of your holiday and can of course be combined with a further stay in a luxury hotel, villa or apartment.
Our experienced crew will steer you safely round the craggy coastline, stopping off at local places of interest and dropping anchor wherever possible to allow guests to enjoy the secret coves, deserted beaches and warm waters that are the Turquoise Coast’s trademark. It’s the holiday you’ve always dreamed of – the gentle swell of the waves, a peaceful passage through clear blue waters, an unspoilt panorama…paradise found.
Exploring South West Turkey
A week spent aboard our superb Gulet is the perfect antidote to the stresses of modern living. As soon as you step off the harbour, your Gulet experience begins – you don’t have to think about preparing meals or planning excursions or anything other than completely relaxing and enjoying each day as it happens.
Our itineraries are meticulously planned by the captain and are designed to encompass some of the finest locations in the Mediterranean. There’ll be plenty of opportunities to explore local places of interest and to make the most of the stunning coves and bays as the Gulet makes its way leisurely along the coast.
The adventure begins in bustling Fethiye, once a small market town with origins dating back to the sixth-century B.C. but now a thriving harbour and tourist attraction in its own right. The cruise encircles many of the area’s most picturesque islands and bays, some points of interest include:
A stop at St Nicholas Island where the ruins of a Byzantine settlement remain.
Sail between the many islands in and around Fethiye Bay and visit the famous ruins of ‘Cleopatra’s Bath’. Imagine seeing the same sights that she saw all those thousands of years ago.
The Gulet anchors in Göcek Bay – 12-miles long and speckled with satellite islands and numerous coves and bays.
Göcek town itself is perfect for a spot of lunch followed by souvenir-shopping. If you’re anticipating magnificent views, they don’t get any better than Marmaris Bay, where the majestic pine-clad mountains are reflected in the sparkling waters of the bay. And if you’d like to explore the undersea landscape, the Gulet is fully equipped with a good selection of snorkelling gear, so you can take a closer look at the colourful marine life whenever the fancy takes you.
Roaming Accommodation
As you might imagine, the accommodation on board the Gulet is first class. This newly-built vessel has been carefully crafted using age-old methods and traditional materials to create a boat of great beauty and outstanding quality, whilst incorporating every modern convenience. A total of 5 double berths are available in luxurious cabins, all with air conditioning and superbly-fitted private en-suite facilities.
In the centre of the Gulet’s impressive interior is a large open plan area with comfortable seating and bar area where guests can relax and enjoy a drink or snack.
Up on deck, graceful sails catch in the breeze and a canopied seating and dining area is the perfect place to sip an aperitif before sharing an alfresco meal under the stars. This is a very relaxing type of holiday and the dress code is very casual. Don’t forget that space on board is restricted and we advise you to pack your clothes in a soft bag which will be easy to store under your berth. Swimwear, casual clothes, and warm tops for the evenings when the sun goes down will be the ideal clothes to pack. You will also need good quality sun block, mosquito repellent and something to keep the wasps at bay as the sun is going down. Only deck shoes are allowed to be worn on board the Gulet to protect the wooden decking.
What better way to spend your precious vacation days and nights than on an NGI Gulet cruise?
